More about our Brand

TaMara & Cydney Johnson
Owners & Chefs

“NeverMeasure started in our grandparents’ kitchens. We were initiated into supporting people with food through our grandparents that needed the support of our youth to stand for hours and prepare food for our families. Throughout this journey of initiation we have gained many valuable lessons and experiences, from our elders and now ancestors, to our Mother and the many folks in hospitality that saw and still see our capacity for creating a memorable food encounter or experience over this past 10 year period.

Throughout this time we have ALWAYS held onto the belief that truly “good” and wholesome food is a right to everyone. This we witnessed especially via our grandmother, Deborah, who devoted much of her life to ensure that the vast population of minorities in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties were fed, clothed and even had access to joy-filled events like Disney On Ice; And our Mother, Tameeka, who ensured that no matter our family’s financial status growing up that she still sourced the most nutrient rich foods and educated us on why that was.

This is how we have come to honor the natural foods of the earth, “scraps” that came to be known as Soul Food today, as luxurious and rich enough. We have decided to commit to sharing our passion for good soul food and knowledge of healthful foods with our community through opportunities to gather centered around a large meal and specialty beverages for pairing. We believe the two go hand in hand.”
